Åland is like made for school trips and summer camps. Here it is safe and secure, the range of activities for juniors is great and there are many nice and price worthy lodging houses /guest houses / holiday villages to choose from both in Mariehamn and in the Åland countryside. The short distances on the island make sure you have plenty of time also during a shorter stay.

Day 1 (any day in 2010 - your class can choose any date for your trip).
08.15 Check-in at Vikingterminalen in Turku.
08.45 Voyage, Turku - Mariehamn with Viking Line's m/s Amorella.
12.00 Viking-buffet-lunch incl. Cola/Fanta/Sprite/milk in the ferry's buffet dining room.
14.10 Arrival at Vikingterminalen in Mariehamn, Västerhamn.
14.15 Distribution of rental bicycles at RONO rent near the Vikingterminal (the bicycles are
         available during the entire Åland stay).
14.20 Departure (on rental bicycles) to Pensionat Solhem (which is located in a rural
         environment near the sea, ca. 3 km. south of the Vikingterminal and the centre of
         Mariehamn).
14.30 Arrival and check-in at Pensionat Solhem.
         Opportunity for (free) activities such as ball games, fishing/angling, rowing,
         swimming on Solhem's large yard and beach.

You can also travel to Åland, if you so wish (for an additional charge), with Silja Line's morning departure from Turku to Mariehamn or with any of AirÅland's many daily flights from Helsinki/Vantaa to Mariehamn (flight time 50 minutes).

You can also take the return voyage from Åland (for an additional charge) with Silja Line's afternoon departure from Mariehamn to Turku, Viking Lines 23.45 departure to Helsinki or with any of AirÅlands many daily flights from Mariehamn to Helsinki/Vantaa.
